12 very rare vintage Burgundy wines, 12 very lucky people, 1 lifetime opportunity!
Rare Wine Dinners presents a unique opportunity to try 12 extremely rare Burgundian wines from some of the greatest vintages of the last 100 years. These wines have been procured from some of the greatest cold cellars in Europe. The 12 very fortunate people to attend this dinner will start their Burgundian journey with a 1947 Corton Charlemagne in impeccable condition and rated 4 stars by Broadbent as well as a classic Meursault from Domaine Comtes Des Lafon. We then step up to two superb Montrachet: 2000 Domaine Ramonet Grand Cru Batard-Montrachet and the show stopping 1986 Joseph Drouhin Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru, two of the very best vintages in the last 40 years.
From there we will move to the red wines of Burgundy and start with a wine from the great vintage of 1919 and well respected negociant Leon Rigault which was purchased on release and shipped to its owner where it lay in his cellar for the last 90yrs till they were purchased by Rare Wine Dinners. The second wine in this flight will be the 1929 Joseph Drouhin Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. Flight 2 from Burgundy takes us to two great vintages of the 1920’s including the great vintage of 1929 in Gevrey Chambertin and a 1923 in Nuits St. Georges also from the same cellar as the two 1919 wines.
Moving right along with flight 3 we embrace a well preserved example of Clos De Vougeot from the great 1937 vintage and respected negociant Bouchard Pere et FIls. Along side this wine we will serve a very rare Burgundy from cult producer Arthur Barolet and his expression of the appellation Chambolle Musigny for vintage 1951, both these wines appear clear and bright ruby red in color. The 4th and final flight is the climax of the evening with two incredibly rare and sought after wines from the great vineyards of Domaine De La Romanee Conti including the 1928 Chevillot La Tache Romanee sourced from one of the greatest cellars in Europe(bottles already served from this cellar have proved exceptional) and the classic 1961 DRC Richebourg sourced from a great and long time collector of Burgundy in Europe.
For this rare vinous occasion Rare Wine Dinners has chosen the private dining room at Marque Restaurant with world Renowned chef Mark Best creating a very special 8 course premium degustation meal utilising Burgundy as a theme for each dish he creates.
If you are a true lover of Burgundy and serious about your wine then this is one opportunity you do not want to miss. We urge you to be very quick as there are only 12 seats at this dinner and once they are gone then the chance to taste some of these wines may be gone forever!
